Today, the Firm is delighted to announce the joining of our newest partner, Dr. Aline Tanielian Fadel. Aline will be joining us as head of our Arbitration practice. We are both excited and confident in her ability to help us take our practice, as well as our Firm, to even greater heights.
In the past, she has participated in numerous arbitration proceedings before the ICC, the BCCI and the DIAC, along with several ad hoc arbitration proceedings. She is a member of the ICC Arab Arbitration Group, and ArbitralWomen, a non-profit dedicated to advancing the interests of female practitioners and promote women and diversity in international dispute resolution.
Dr. Tanielian is a contributor to literary outlets including Le Commerce du Levant, Legal Agenda and specialized academic journals, and has been a lecturer in Commercial Law at USJ since 2012, her alma mater. She holds an LL.M in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution from the Lebanese University’s Francophone Branch, an LL.M in Banking and Finance Law from USJ, and an LL.D from the University of Paris II – Panthéon Assas. Between 2007 and 2010, Aline was a Judge in the First Instance Armenian Evangelical Tribunal of Lebanon.
In addition to Arbitration, Aline’s expertise ranges between Banking & Finance, Corporate, Business and Commercial Law, and Aviation Law. For many years, she has handled financial institutions’ securitizations, issuance of preferred shares, GDRs and subordinated bonds, as well as the opening of representative offices of foreign banks in Lebanon. Further to this, she has been extensively trusted by clients with a varied range of due diligence proceedings for start-ups and established companies, as well as working on companies’ set-ups and follow-ups, opening different REP offices and branches, and M&A operations. She has represented airline insurers to settle disputes with plane crash victims, and took part in the legal verification of the Arabic version of the foreign investment legal framework in Cuba.
Aline is no stranger to the life and work culture of Eptalex, as she has collaborated with us in the past, at Eptalex – Touma Law Firm, between 2014 and 2017. We are therefore delighted to welcome her on board, and look forward to the success of the Firm.
